    2. collaborate with students, peers, parents, and community members using digital tools and resources to support student success and innovation.

    4. model and facilitate effective use of current and emerging digital tools to locate, analyze, evaluate, and use information resources to support research and learning.

How I apply this standard in my teaching.

It is vital students know how to use digital social media responsibly. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, and other platforms can be helpful for collaboration within local or global circles. Student blogs are a useful way to store completed school work and build an interactive portfolio.

Allowing students to take charge of their learning helps create meaningful connections between prior knowledge and new concepts. Learning in creative ways increases comprehension and enhances student reflection. Project based learning creates the perfect environment for students to experiment with new ideas.

Students who are intrinsically motivated to work independently on projects can achieve more when allowed the freedom to explore at their pace. Project based learning provides a medium for students to showcase their learning. Presentations using digital tools and resources provide innovative learning experiences.
