2026 RULES

General Rules (Apply to all Race Divisions)
Participants should try to be present to race and must try to be in Full Uniform.
Kompetition is open to all registered Beaver Scouts / Kub Scouts / Scouts / Venturers / Rovers / Scouters of Windsor, Essex and Surrounding Areas
ALL DECISIONS OF THE RACE OFFICIAL ARE FINAL!
Only NEW Beaver Buggies/Kub Kars/ScoutTRUCKS) may be entered, previous years entries may not be reused.
All Beaver Buggies/Kub Kars/Trucks will be submitted for inspection prior to racing. Inspection will ensure that all specifications are adhered to. Any Beaver Buggy / Kub Kar / Scout Truck found to be out of specification will be allowed the chance to correct the issue before racing.
All Beaver Buggies / Kub Kars / Scout Trucks must pass inspection before being allowed to race. For this reason, it is important to show up early for racing so that your car can be inspected and included in the races.
Once the Beaver Buggy / Kub Kar / Scout Truck has been given final inspection approval; only race officials are permitted to handle the Buggy / Kub Kar / Truck until it is returned to its owner at the end of the race day, or if the owner is called to the pits for repairs.
Each Buggy / Kub Kar / Scout Truck nose will be identified at inspection.
All Buggy / Kub Kar / Scout Truck must be raced nose first. No reversals will be allowed after inspection.
Each Buggy / Kub Kar / Scout Truck will be assigned a number during registration days and will be affixed on top of the Buggy / Kub Kar / Scout Truck at the back.
Each racer will be guaranteed four (4) races.
Perfect -N randomization techniques will be used to schedule the race. This method of scheduling is used to give each Kar one race in each lane against as many different racers as possible.
Just before each race the vehicle number and Lane number will be announced.
If a Buggy / Kub Kar / Scout Truck jumps the track or disrupts another Buggy / Kub Kar / Truck in the race, the race will be run again. The results of the re-race will stand.
Lowest average time will determine the rankings. In the calculation of the rankings, the slowest time will be dropped. Racers results will be based on the average of their 3 fastest times.
Buggies / Kub Kars / Scout Trucks will only be returned to the owner/racer after ALL races are completed.
FINALS ONLY - If, at the completion of racing there are ties in the top 4 positions, a 4 car race off will be conducted until there are clear 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers.
This division is for Beaver Scout age youth.
Beaver Buggies are to be made from the Scouts Canada BEAVER BUGGY KIT ONLY (exceptions: trim e.g.: windshield, driver, etc.).
Each Beaver Scout will receive a crest.
1. This division is for Kub Scout age youth only. All younger Scouting youth will race in the Beaver Buggy Division and all older Scouting youth and Scouters will compete in the Scout Trucks.
Kub Kars are to be made from the Scouts Canada KUB KAR KIT ONLY (exceptions: trim e.g.: windshield, driver, etc. as long as the final Kar meets the specifications).
The top 3 racers will receive a medallion and crest.
All Kubs will receive a crest.
Kub Kars will receive Design awards for Krome and Polish, Kreativity, Kraftsmanship and Theme.
Only the top winner of each design category will receive a design medallion.
The Scouter Bottoset award is presented each year to an 8-year-old Kub Scout (Runners) who races the most well rounded Kub Kar. This award considers the design as well as the speed of the Kar and is presented at the end of the day.
This division is for Scout age and older.
TRUCKS are made from Scout Truck Kit.
The top 3 racers will receive a medallion and crest.
All Scouts will receive a crest.
The Design categories are Spit and Polish, Imagination, Engineering and Theme. The Design Judging will be completed and awarded at the end of the day.
Only the top winner of each design category will receive a design medallion.
This division is for Venturer, Rover and Scouter age racers.
TRUCKS are made from Scout Truck Kit..
The top 3 racers will receive a medallion and crest.
All racing Scouters will receive a crest.
The Design categories are Spit and Polish, Imagination, Engineering and Theme. The Design Judging will be completed and awarded at the end of the day.

Windsor Kub Kar Specifications CURRENTLY BEING UPDATED FOR 2026
I. Weight; shall not exceed 141.75 grams (5 oz)
II. Length; shall not exceed 177.8 mm (7")
III. Width; shall not exceed 69.85 mm (2.75")
IV. Height; shall not exceed 79.375 mm (3.125")
V. Minimum Wheelbase; measured at centre line of axles, shall not be less than 101.6 mm (4")
VI. Maximum Wheelbase; measured at centre line of axles, shall not be greater than 114.3 mm (4.5")
VII. Maximum Nose to Front Axle; measured from center line of front axle to extreme front of nose can be no longer than 42.85 mm (1.687”)
VIII. Minimum Nose Width; when viewed from above the nose width cannot be smaller than 6.35 mm (0.25”)
IX. Width between inside faces of wheels; shall not be less than 44.45 mm (1.75")
X. Minimum Body Clearance; minimum clearance between underside of car body and floor shall be 9.525 mm (0.375")
XI. Maximum Nose Clearance; nose (front) of car shall clear the track by a maximum of 15.875 (0.625”)
XII. Wheels; there shall be NO substitutes for the original wheels supplied with the kit. NO modification of stock wheels except removal of the injection die and spur bump which results from the manufacturing process. Hole drilling, wafering, thinning of, rounding or major dimensional changes to the stock wheels WILL NOT BE PERMITTED. Figure 1 shows approved modifications for die spur removal. The wheel side wall bumps as shown in figure 1 must be visible for racing.
XIII. Wheel bearings, washers & bushings; NO wheel bearings, washers, bushings, collets, etc. may be used.
XIV. Axles; NO substitutes for the original axles supplied with the kit. They may be polished to remove burrs, die marks and sharp edges. Figure 2 shows approved axle modifications
XV. Springing or Chassis support; the Kub Kar shall not ride on any type of springs or supports.
XVI. Starting Devices; the Kub Kar shall be free-wheeling with no starting devices.
XVII. Lubrication; GRAPHITE LUBRICATION PROHIBITED.
XVIII. Moving Weights; MOVING or LIQUID WEIGHTS ARE PROHIBITED. All weights must be fixed into position.
Windsor Scout Truck Specifications 2026 CURRENTLY BEING UPDATED FOR 2026
I. Weight; shall not exceed 283.5 grams
II. Length; 180 mm to 254 mm (this is longer than the standard Kub Kar Kit)
III. Width; shall not exceed 86 mm
IV. Height; shall not exceed 115 mm
V. Width between inside faces of wheels; shall not be less than 45 mm
VI. Minimum Body Clearance; minimum clearance between underside of car body and floor shall be 9.52 mm
VII. Maximum Nose Clearance; nose (front) of car shall clear the track by a maximum of 16 mm.
VIII. Minimum Nose Width; when viewed from above the nose, width cannot be smaller than 7 mm.
IX. Wheels; – That could damage the track surface will not be allowed. Kub Kar (Pine Derby) style wheels must be used. They may be modified.
X. Tires; - No Rubber “O” Rings required for Windsor Races
XI. Axles; Kub Kar (Pine Derby) style axles must be used. They may be modified.
XII. Wheel bearings, washers & bushings; NO wheel bearings, washers, bushings, collets, etc. may be used in the STOCK division.
XIII. Starting Devices; the Dragster shall be free-wheeling with no starting devices.
XIV. Lubrication; GRAPHITE LUBRICATION PROHIBITED.
XV. No Manufactured Dragsters; example: Plastic Models
