DOGS
Vyaghra and Bhramaraka are Krsna's pet dogs.
SARAMA - dog of Indra.
Sarama is the Vedic Goddess of intuition and dogs. She serves as a messenger for Indra, Lord of the Gods, and is the mother of the Sarameyas, two dogs who served Yama, God of death.
Sarama was the only one able to find the sacred cows that had been stolen from the Angirasas, the fire priests, by following the path of truth, guided by her intuition. Sarama’s name means “the fleet one,” and she was also called Devashuni (divine bitch) and the Hound of Heaven.
Yama, the regent of hell, has two dogs, according to the Puranas, one of them named Cerbura and Sabula, or varied; the other Syama, or black
CERBURA - the three headed infernal dog of the Krishna legend - known as Cerberus in the West
Lord Yama accompanies the Pandavas all the way to the paradise in the guise of a dog to test the wisdom of Dharmaraj, his god-like son and the eldest brother of the Pandavas.
The dog is also associated with Lord Siva who is known as svapathi or the lord of the dogs. Bhairava a fierce form of Siva, has a dog as an attendant,Hadkai Maa. Khanoba, an aspect of Siva, who is worshipped in Maharashtra, had a dog as his vehicle.
Lord Dattatreya who is a personification of the Brahma, Vishnu and Siva is always accompanied by four dogs who symbolize the four Vedas.
