Mardi Gras Drill Meet 2015

Every year, Tulane’s NROTC Battalion hosts one of the largest drill meets in the nation. Traditionally held on the Friday before Fat Tuesday, 40+ universities from across the nation that elect to attend. This year’s event was held on Friday, February 13th, 2015. The drill meet consists of Platoon Inspection, Platoon Armed Basic Drill, Squad Basic Drill, Color Guard, Platoon Exhibition, and Individual Exhibition. The events were be judged by senior enlisted Marines whose thorough knowledge of the drill manual and drill competitions make them more than equal to the task. This year, the USMMA drill Team, led by Midshipman LT Jake Wade of Merritt Island, took home 2nd Place for Color Guard and 3rd Place Overall!! To cap off the trip, the USMMA Midshipmen marched in the Crewe of Tucks Parade during Mardi Gras in New Orleans. A BIG thanks goes out to the New Orleans Chapter for taking care of the team!
