Welcome to the official website of Kosei Sato (KS)!
KS is a neurogeneticist based in Japan. My research focuses on the neural mechanisms underlying innate behaviors in Drosophila melanogaster, with emphasis on how neural circuits are shaped and modified by gene-environment interplay.
To elucidate this mechanism, I employ a multidisciplinary approach that integrates molecular biology, electrophysiology, and machine learning-based analysis of animal behavior.
A research paper, regarding the neural bases of the evolution of courtship behavior, has been accepted for publication in Science. LINK
