Research

My fields of research cover the security-IPE relationship.  My research confronts some of the most enduring and fascinating questions in international relations: How do states use foreign economic policy to maintain peace and reinforce security cooperation?  How do states manage to advance economic cooperation in international agreements?  My research combines creative theoretical insights with rigorous empirical tests to achieve new and interesting conclusions about the nature of foreign economic policy and the relationship between economic interdependence and security.  I am also currently working on collaborative research on East Asian security.
