Professor Cho, Hyun-chong (조현종)
Biography
Prof. Hyun-chong Cho is currently a full professor in the Department of Electronics Engineering at Kangwon National University (KNU), Korea. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Florida, USA, in 2009, and worked as a research fellow in the Radiology Department at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, from 2010 to 2011. His professional experience includes serving as a Chief Research Engineer at LG Electronics CTO from 2012 to 2013. His research interests include artificial intelligence, deep learning, medical imaging, computer vision, remote sensing (LiDAR), and smart livestock monitoring systems.
Prof. Cho currently serves as an Editor for the SCIE journal, Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology, and as a board member of the Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers (KIEE). He received the KNU Outstanding Faculty Research Award in 2024, and the KNU Outstanding Faculty Teaching Awards in both 2017 and 2023.
