Overview

America Recycles Day, an initiative of Keep America Beautiful, is the only nationally recognized day and community-driven national awareness event dedicated to promoting and celebrating recycling in the United States. Since its inception in 1997, communities across the country have participated in America Recycles Day on November 15 to promote environmental citizenship, educate and encourage action. Through America Recycles Day, KAB empowers communities to educate and directly engage their citizens in the act of recycling. On or around November 15 each year, thousands of organizations hold events to educate people about recycling resources in their community. Through recycling collection drives, demonstrations, competitions, tours, displays and other special events, citizens encourage each other to increase their recycling at home, at school, in the office and in their communities at-large.
