Research Experience
Starting Spring-2014, I am working with Prof. Constantine Dovrolis at GaTech. The current project involves simulation and modeling of an evolutionary hierarchical network and its analysis.
In Fall-2013, I worked with Prof. Polo Chau at GaTech. I lead the MMap Project involving high-performance graph mining algorithms with Java's built-in memory mapping capabilities.
During Fall-2012 and Spring-2013, I worked with Prof. Ling Liu at the Distributed Data Intensive Systems Lab (DiSL) at Georgia Tech. I worked on large-scale distributed computation algorithm for document clustering with Hadoop using EMULAB cluster system.
During my undergraduate and masters at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh I did research projects and thesis on computer vision (real-time face recognition) and image processing (fast image zooming). I had a couple of international publications as an outcome of that research.
Teaching Experience
I worked as a Teaching Assistant at the School of Computer Science, in the Georgia Institute of Technology for the following courses
CS4400 - Database Systems (Spring, 2014)
CS3251 - Computer Networking (Spring, 2016 & Summer, 2017)
I worked as a Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh from September, 2010 to August, 2012. I have instructed the following courses there,
Design and Analysis of Algorithms
Object-Oriented Programming with Java
Introduction to Probability
Database Systems (Lab)
Engineering Drawing (Lab)
Computer Networking (Lab)
VLSI Design and Testing (Lab)
Computer Architecture and Design (Lab)
Software Design Pattern (Lab)
Compiler Design (Lab)
I have worked as a Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Daffodil International University from January, 2010 to September, 2010. I have taken the following courses at DIU,
Structured Programming in C
Object-Oriented Programming in Java
Computer Graphics
Simulation and Modeling
Electronic Device and Circuits
Software Engineering Experience
In the summer of 2016 (May, 2016 - Aug, 2016) I worked at Facebook as an Engineering intern in the Ads team. There I developed a prototype based on user behavior analysis. Technologies used: C++, Hive and Facebooks's internal development platform.
In the summer of 2013 (May, 2013 - Aug, 2013) I worked at Amazon as a Software Development Engineering intern in the AWS team. There I developed a fully functional prototype involving the implementation of a usage prediction algorithm and optimal resource scheduling for a new service soon to be introduced to AWS-EC2 cloud customers. Technologies used: Java, DynamoDB and Amazon's internal development platform.
I have worked as a Software Engineer in Structured Data Systems Limited (SDSL), a subsidiary of AfriGIS, South Africa from June, 2008 to January, 2010. During my stay at SDSL, I was part of the following projects,
Intelligent Spatial Search Engine (i-Search)
Business Information Retrieval from Web Data
AfriGIS Eye Project
I have conducted most of the developments in C++ and JAVA.
