1. Library Orientation Programme for First Year (Newly Admitted)
Library has organized Orientation programme for newly admitted students to get the information about library how to use the library material what are print as well as e resources are available with library, what are the various sections in the library. Total information is given to the students with the help of PowerPoint Presentation.
Outcome of the Activity: - Students are completely aware about the library usage.
Introduction: Information Literacy lecture is arranged by the knowledge Resource Center to get an idea how to use subscribed Database for e journal and e-books, i.e. INFLIBNET N- LIST. As well as what are the open resources are available on KJS Library Portal.
Every year the library department organize OPAC Training Program for newly admitted students. This program teaches them how to use the library and its resources effectively. They learn about things like finding books, using online resources, and navigating the library online catalogue system, called OPAC.
Newly admitted PG students will receive training on how to search information within databases, as well as information about freely available open educational resources .i.e. SWAYAM, NPTEL Courses. And many more Open Access Educational Resources
On the occasion of Vachan Prerana Din on October 15, 2018, a guest lecture was organized Prof. More, J.S. from the Hindi Department was the guest. The focus of the lecture was on the "Importance of Reading." Professor More shed light on the significance of educating reading habits and how they play a pivotal role in our daily lives.
During the lecture, Prof. More emphasized how reading enriches our lives, broadens our perspectives, and enhances our knowledge across various domains. They likely discussed how reading isn’t just a leisure activity but essential skill that aids in personal growth, intellectual development, and acquiring diverse viewpoints. Additionally, Prof. More might have highlighted the importance of reading in enhancing vocabulary, critical thinking, and overall cognitive abilities
Also library has organize "Granthdindhi," where students, staff members, and even management participated enthusiastically. The event involved a procession from the library door throughout the entire college premises, with participants holding books (granth) to signify the celebration of reading and knowledge. This collective participation showcased the institution's dedication to promoting a reading culture and fostering a love for literature.
Library Extension on 25th February 2019 was inaugurated by renowned international famous writer Hon’ble Shri Acchuatji Godbole, visited to library also given suggestions for books.
On the occasion of Dr. A.P. J. Abdul Kalam Jayanti on 15th October library has organized the book review completion excellent books reviews students have given some of them we have displayed on the notice board.
Books exhibition organized by Jyoti Books Nashik for Vedant Sahitya Vikri Rath books of Swami Vivekananda & Shri Ramakrishna with the coordination of Library. Students, Faculty members visited the exhibition
Online lecture is conducted on ‘Importance of reading’. During Covid Period, introductory lecture was delivered by Prof. Neeta Shinde (Librarian) there were 56 students present during this online lecture.
