A GREAT DAY IN PORTLAND FEBRUARY 12, 2005. Permission to load this video from DVD to my channel was given to me by Corky Miller, one of the creators of the original project at the Crystal Ballroom here in Portland Oregon. The film is a documentation of the process it took to capture the photograph. I was there too, as a kind of guide, helping get folks where and when they were needed including to Mr. Miller for camera. Darrel Grant created the idea and Owen Carey was photographer with with its predecessor A GREAT DAY IN HARLEM  in mind, photographed on August 12, 1958 - 57 jazz musicians in Harlem, New York, taken by freelance photographer Art Kane for Esquire magazine.
