SAW is an Puzzle/Survival game based on the movie franchise Saw.
SAW was developed using the Starcraft II: Heart of the Swam map editor. The mod features unorthodox level design that utilizes story and VO all designed by me.

Design Overview
The image above is the overall layout of the game. Each room has its own unique puzzle and traps that require the players to work together in order to advance.
Majority of the rooms involve a key in which players must acquire in order to advance to the next room.
In the starting area, players are informed there are destructible items placed around the map and that important items can be sometimes found in them.
Breakdown
Room/Puzzle 1
DescriptionThe first room players encounter is given the title Deception. Similar to the Saw franchise, players are told the rules through in-game VO in the standard Jigsaw voice. Players are informed that the game is simple and all they have to do is grab the key in the room, but to not be deceived. ObjectivePlayers must their way through the maze spinning blades to find a destructible item, that when destroyed, reveals the Real Key (See image). TrapsThe main trap of the level is the Fake Key that is showcased to the players in the room. (See image) If players attempt to leave the room with the Fake Key, they will instantly die. Players are able to click the item and it will be clearly displayed to the players that it is indeed a Fake Key, helping them avoid the fatal trap.Spinning blades kill players instantly on touch.
Room/Puzzle 2
Description
After securing the Key from Room 1, players make their way to Room 2. Similar to room 1, in-game VO in the Jigsaw voice informs players of the rules for this game. Players are informed that they must retrieve the key in the furnace. And that once they are in hell, only those around them can save them.Objective
Players must grab the key inside the furnace type room to open the door to the next room.
Traps
Once players pick up the key, it sets off a chain of events. First the door leading into the furnace type room closes, leaving the players inside trapped. Players have 15 seconds to get them out. Once the trap activates, it also triggers the box outside(See Image) to generate the tools to open up the trap door. Players on the outside must grab the tools and force open the locked door.
If the locked door is opened in time, the players trapped inside the furnace will be saved. If not, any player inside the furnace will die.
There are explosive barrels set inside the furnace that will also hurt the players if they go near them.
Room/Puzzle 3
DescriptionAfter securing the key from Room 2, players make their way to Room 3. In-game VO in the Jigsaw voice informs players of games rules. Players are informed that, just like in life, you must choose the correct path or there will be consequences.Objective
Players must choose the correct path to take from each trap and make it to the open door at the end. There is 6 traps and 2 choices for each trap for the players to pick from.TrapsIf players choose the wrong path they are shocked and die instantly.Room/Puzzle 4
DescriptionAfter making their way past room 3, the gate will open automatically for room/puzzle 4. In-game VO in the Jigsaw voice informs players of the rules. Players are informed that all they have to do is grab the Room Key in the center of the room to advance.Objective
Players must make their way through that maze to get to the Room Key in the center of the room. They must avoid contact with the enemies in the room to do so.TrapsEnemies path back and forth through the maze and if they are touched the player dies instantly.Room/Puzzle 5
DescriptionAfter picking up the key in Room 4, the door to Room 5 will open. In-game VO in the Jigsaw voice informs players the rules of the game. Players are informed that in life, remembering paths you take will help you avoid future mistakes.Objective
Players must make their way through the maze of bombs to grab the room key to the next room.TrapsBombs if touched instantly kill playersOnce the room key is grabbed, the bombs in the room will go invisible and players must remember the path they took to in order to make it back out of the room alive. Sandbags are placed in to help give players some landmarks in order to escape.Room/Puzzle 6
DescriptionAfter retrieving the key in Room 5, players make their way into room 6. In-game VO in the Jigsaw voice, informs players the rules of the game. Players are informed that they will need to control the voices in their heads.Objective
Players must grab the Room key in the room. This will trigger the song Friday by Rebecca Black to play, thus killing the players. In order to stop the song, they must pick up the wrench in the room and destroy the generator in order for the next rooms door to open. This is a timed event and players have 30 seconds to destroy the generator.TrapsA song is triggered when the key is picked up. After 30 seconds the players will instantly die if they do not destroy the generator in the room.Room/Puzzle 7
DescriptionAfter destroying the generator in room 6, players make their way into room 7. In-game VO, in the Jigsaw voice, informs players that they must persevere through the pain and agony of this room.Objective
The game is simple. Players must pass through a hallway lined up with enemies and make it to the other side. TrapsThe hallway in the middle of the room is filled with enemies who slice the players as they run by. If players are able to run through without stopping, they will live. If they stop for even a second, they will die.Room/Puzzle 8
DescriptionRoom 8 is the final challenge for players is about forgiveness. No VO is played when players enter the room. Instead, a timer sets and players are given the chance to kill Jigsaw within 20 seconds or lose their chance. Objective
The players must forgive Jigsaw and decide not to kill him. If the players do not kill him, the door to the escape pod will open and players achieve victory.TrapsIf players decide to kill Jigsaw, the door never opens and players are trapped in the building forever.
