Converted from Kettleness railway station in the 1960’s by the East Cleveland Scout District, Seeonee Lair Campsite and Activity Centre is now used all year round by Scouts, Guides, youth and church organisations. Several schools and colleges have also found this site useful for projects and mid term camps.
We are based in the remote hamlet of Kettleness, perched on the cliff tops of the North East Coast of England. The fishing port and holiday resort of Whitby is just 4 miles down the coast. As can be seen from photos on this website the location enjoys magnificent open views and the station still retains some of its original features. The location is also just a short walk from the sandy beach of Runswick Bay.
