Keshnee Padayachee completed a BSc degree at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (majoring in Computer Science and Mathematics) in 1995. She was subsequently awarded a merit bursary for further study in Computer Science at her alma mater, where she completed an Honours degree (Computer Science) in 1996 and an MSc (Information Technology) in 2002. In 2010 she obtained her PhD in Computer Science from the University of Pretoria. Her thesis was entitled “An Aspect-Oriented Approach towards enhancing Optimistic Access Control with Usage Control”.
Keshnee Padayachee's research interests revolves around exploring effective techniques for the development of security software – in particular, the efficacy of the aspect-oriented paradigm towards developing source code that is more extensible and generic. She has delivered numerous papers at international conferences covering aspect-oriented programming and its relation to information security. She has chaired several international conferences and she has published several journal articles.
She is a C3 NRF-rated scientist.
