Alaskan malamute is a sled dog who is breeded to pull heavy loads. They are usually very energetic, but because it's very individual there will be calm ones too. The best way to extract the energy is working by pulling. On offsnow when air temperature is not very hot, for 1-2 dogs by bike or by kickbike or just by running so called canicrossing, and if have more dogs by cart or by ATV. On snow you can go by dogsled, kicksled or by skiies. Also tyre of moped or of car or part of chain is good pulling load too for a malamute. Free running also extract energy well, but you have to know that malamute might have hunting instincts and doesn't stay near on unfenced area.

Malamutes are very friendly for humans, but because they are quite big and very powerfull, you shouldn't let them be with small children without supervising. Malamutes do not necessarily tolerate foreign dogs, especially those of the same sex.
