Kathryn E. Joyce
I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Values & Public Policy at the Princeton University Center for Human Values and the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs Education Research Section. I received my PhD in Philosophy from the University of California, San Diego in 2020.
I specialize in social and political philosophy, philosophy of education, and ethics. Within these areas I focus on egalitarianism and educational justice. My main project develops an account of equality in social and interpersonal relationships that emphasizes mutual accountability. I argue that this account illuminates relational dimensions of racial and gender (in)justice and explore its implications for a broader ideal of egalitarian justice. I also work on projects that explore philosophical dimensions of education policy and practice. To learn more, check out my research page.
