I am writing to you for the advertised Translator position. I had a diploma in professional media translation at the American University in Cairo, and as a professional media translator, I am excited to hear of this position in the field of translating and working with languages.
During school, I discovered my passion for languages, I wanted to pursue my academic career in the linguistic field. In 2005 I graduated from my Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry which was irrelavant to my translation career, but I continued with a 1-year diploma in translation studies at the AUC aimed at translating from English to Arabic and vice versa to gain a better understanding of the skill of translation, Now, I am looking for the opportunity to use my language skills within a professional context.
My college education was mainly taught in English and allowed me to obtain a high level of proficiency of the language as well as reading of complex English texts, listening to Music, watching movies, TV series in the English language. Moreover, I worked in the field of medical transcription which improved my English listening and writing skills. As a result, I have grown perfectly accustomed to working in English.
I believe these skills to be essential in translating texts, as they enable you to work in a precise manner with eye for detail. Furthermore, I have often dedicated time to translation projects for small companies and the proofreading of English texts as a freelancer. In short, I enjoy not only translating but also doing the linguistic checks of texts. Moreover, I have good MS Office skills and some technological knowledge thanks to my interest in web design and computers hardware.
As evidenced by my strong academic performance and side projects, I am a motivated and hard-working person. I have good exp. in Social Media marketing because I am an administrator in a Facebook Group representing a real estate office in "El Rehab City Mall" called "Rehaby.net" with a website "www.rehaby.net", I have a Certificate in Media Translation from the AUC and also have a 7+ yrs exp. in transcription/translation, my computers skills are exceptional with a 75 WPM keyboarding speed, also I have 2 yrs exp. as a team leader/QA manager. I will be one of the best for this job.
