I am an Engineering Educator and Researcher in the areas of both Electrical and Mechanical Engineering at Duke University.
I currently hold the position of Undergraduate Laboratory Manager in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Duke University, Durham, NC. Prior to my current position, I have been employed in the field, both in research and industry. At RTI International, Research Triangle Park, NC I served as a Research Engineer where I designed high-efficiency thermoelectrics using epitaxially grown superlattice thin-film structures. At Lutron Electronics, Coopersburg, PA I developed electronically controlled dimmers for fluorescent and incandescent lamps.
My research interests include undergraduate engineering education, non-linear dynamics, electrostatics, energy harvesting, RFID, power electronics, plasma physics, and thin films.
I received the Ph.D. degree in ECE with a MEMS research focus from Duke University, Durham, NC. , the MS degree in EE from Dartmouth College, Hanover, NH and the B.S. degree in Physics from Bates College, Lewiston, ME.
