Describe Yourself:
Ever since I was a little girl, I have had a strong desire to play soccer - all the time! It all started when I was 4 years old and would watch my 6-year-old sister play soccer for our town's recreational team. Her team was coached by my Dad, so I was there for every practice and every game until I was old enough to play on my own team. Even then, the game was so much fun for me, that my Dad would frequently allow me to participate in my older sister’s team practices and games . It was challenging playing with the older girls but that’s what made it even more fun me. Since then I have focused on becoming the best player I can be and developing the skills to be a good teammate and team leader.
I am a very focused, driven and competitive person by nature. I crave the structured way that I prepare myself for staying in shape, eating healthy and preparing for games and practices. These characteristics are the same whether I am on, or off the field. I feel that playing soccer and specifically participating in high-level soccer programs over the years, has helped me develop exceptionally strong organizational and time management skills. It has also helped me realize how important it is in group environments to have a strong and motivational leader. It is so important to have someone to help keep things moving forward and keep things focused. I often find myself assuming this role when the need may arise.
Besides being driven in soccer, I have always been very interested in food, its place in a person's life, how it impacts the way your feel and act and ways to utilize different ingredients to make amazing and healthy meals and snacks.
In my spare time, I find myself cooking and baking all sorts of health snacks which helps me strike a physical and mental balance. I find that the common link between soccer and my approach to eating healthy is they can both be very challenging at times. But with focus and attention to detail the end product can be extremely rewarding. I am always looking to learn new things and improve over time. In soccer I may be trying to learn to perfect a move that one of my teammates already has tried during practice or a game. While cooking, I am always searching for new recipes to try or cooking techniques that require me to learn something new. I enjoy a new challenge so much that I rarely bake or cook something again once I feel that I have figured out how to do it well.
