Mr. Jacob Martin
Jacob Martin holds a Master's degree in PK-12 Director of Instruction from the University of Wisconsin-Superior (2023), complementing his Bachelor's degree in Instrumental/General Music Education K-12 from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (2015). He is dedicated to the pursuit of musical excellence and the holistic development of young minds.
Mr. Martin currently serves as the High School Instrumental Music Educator at Kaukauna High School in Wisconsin, overseeing bands comprising approximately 150 students. His teaching career includes serving as the Neenah Community Band Director (2021–2023) and as the Grades 5–12 Instrumental Music Educator at Iola-Scandinavia Schools (2015–2018).
Mr. Martin’s contributions to music education have earned him numerous accolades, including the 2023 Fox Cities Chamber Excellence in Education Award, the 2022 Fox Cities Future 15 Young Professional Award, and the 2021 Herb Kohl Educational Foundation Teacher Fellow recognition. He has also been a National GRAMMY Music Educator Award Quarterfinalist multiple times and has helped Kaukauna High School earn the Best Communities for Music Education NAMM Award annually from 2020 to 2024. Additionally, he had the honor of conducting at the 2023 Wisconsin Governor's Inauguration and leading the KHS Band in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in New York City.
He actively contributes to the music education community through his involvement with Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, where he has served as the Province Alumni Coordinator (2024–present), as well as the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), Wisconsin School Music Association (WSMA), Wisconsin Music Educators Association (WMEA), Neenah Community Band, and Tuba Christmas.
