Cramming My Point of View into Every Available Outlet

I was born in St. Louis, Missouri and studied fine art with a concentration in figurative drafting and painting. After moving to Chicago (finally) I turned my art from the traditional to the contemporary. Technology became my new favorite tool to create.

In moving within that direction, all collections featured on this site have been shot and edited exclusively on a smart phone. Variations in photographic technique as well as digital process via myriad apps have not only affected the visual result of the image but the idea passed forth to the viewer. My work involves urban architecture both with and without human interaction. Urban forms and their inevitable decay offer a beautiful reciprocation between shapes, spaces, and light. These scenes define city existence and the relationship and tension between humanity and environment.

With my background in painting and drawing composition, I use that knowledge base to create conceptual and landscape digital photography of industrial/man-made structures along with abstract movement studies of urban scenes and light. Collage techniques and digital manipulation using architecture and city dwellers mold into unique scenes and conceptions. By using a smart phone to move and rebuild urban scenes, I am able to bring traditional structure and composition into abstract ideas.
