Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Software Research Center of AIT, Athlone Ireland:

Project Title: Scalable video delivery over Peer-to-peer networks using network coding

Project Description: Streaming scalable video generated from H.264 AVC extension (Joint Scalable Video Model) to Peer-to-Peer Network on VLC media player and analysis of performance of the system. Development of novel network coding algorithm to improve quality of experience. The project is funded by Enterprise Ireland.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Technical lead for Scalable video delivery over peer-to-peer networks using network coding.

  2. Writing FP7 project proposal to develop efficient and error free scalable video delivery platform for Future Media Internet.

PhD thesis title: “Scalable Video Coding Using Wavelet Transformation”.

Abstract: Computational complexity of wavelet based scalable video coder is drastically reduced by applying motion estimation to adaptively selected block and by reducing the number of steps involved in the fast motion estimation algorithms. This work also supports Interactive Region Of Interest (IROI) scalability during decoding.
