1. SPRING CREEK CABIN CLOSING INSTRUCTIONS

Please leave the cabin as you found it. Replace any items that were used or borrowed. Clean the kitchen and bathrooms. Sweep and vacuum the rooms. Wet mop floors with detergent and water. Shake out throw rugs and put back in cabin after floor is dry. Take home all food items.

1. Open hot water circuit breaker box located on the wall behind the hot water heater and remove the breaker bar by pulling straight out. Turn upside down and re-insert the breaker bar. "OFF" will be clearly visible on the breaker bar. Do this at least 10 min before turning off water to cabin. 

2. Clean cabin. Strip sheets and pillow cases from beds. Make each bed with it's blanket/comforter and pillow.

3. Do not leave any food items in the cabin when you leave. Remove all food items from the refrigerator. Do not leave any garbage in cabin or outside of cabin.

4. Turn off all lights, TV and DVD. Unplug all of the space heaters.

5.  Turn off bathroom floor heater by pushing button on right hand side of thermostat inside bathroom and holding until display indicates system is off.

6. Turn off the main water supply outside. 1/4 turn clockwise. Turn off wall heater by moving switch at the bottom all the way to the left. You will hear the switch click when it is moved into the off position.

7. WINTER (Oct - April): Before shutting off main house water supply:  Open all faucets halfway, hot & cold including the bathtub. Open drain to the water heater by turning knob at bottom of water heater counterclockwise. This is to prevent pipes from freezing and bursting during winter. Circuit breaker for hot water heater (located on wall behind water heater) must be in the "OFF" position before draining hot water heater tank.

8. WINTER: Flush both toilets. Place approximately 1/2-cup of antifreeze in each toilet bowl and tank, sinks and tub. (Antifreeze is under stairway to the left of the water heater.)

9. WINTER: Clean inside of fireplace glass when cool with oven cleaner (under kitchen sink). Spray on cleaner and leave for 2 min., then wipe off with paper towels.

10. Plug in motion sensor "barking dog" alarms in front room and back bedroom.

11. Turn off all inside lights. Check all appliances to make sure they are turned off.

12. Latch and lock all shutters and doors. Swing gate to gate down into closed position. Replace keys in lock-box if used to lock south side door and storm door.

13. Garbage Removal:

• •  Winter (Nov - April): Take garbage home or dispose of at South Lake Tahoe refuse disposal site.

• Spring/Summer (May - October):  Remove garbage and place in dumpsters located along Spring Creek Rd. Dumpsters are in place for Spring Creek May 1 - Oct. 31 for cabin users.
