WHAT IS KAPPA LEAGUE?

Kappa League, formally known as the Kappa Instructional Leadership League, is the national youth initiative of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated. Kappa League focuses on training young men of color (but not exclusive to) 6th-12th grade for leadership, achievement and service in every field of human endeavor. Strong emphasis is placed upon personal development, academic achievement and college and career preparation.

IS KAPPA LEAGUE A FRATERNITY?

NO. Kappa League is a youth LEADERSHIP organization that is focused solely on the personal development, academic achievement and college and career preparation of its young members.

WHERE CAN I FIND A KAPPA LEAGUE PROGRAM IN MY AREA?

In the “About Kappa League” section you can scroll down to “Chapter Locator” and search for a Kappa League program in your area. If you do not see one, please contact us at sacguideright@gmail.com for more information.

WHAT ARE THE AGE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS TO JOIN KAPPA LEAGUE?

Age and admissions requirement vary by chapter. Please contact the local Kappa League director for more information regarding their requirements.

WHAT ARE THE ACTIVITIES OF KAPPA LEAGUE?

While activities will vary from chapter to chapter, almost all Kappa League chapters focus on: personal development, college preparation, community service, college field trips, career based field trips, youth leadership activities and mentoring.

IS KAPPA LEAGUE JUST FOR AFRICAN AMERICAN MALES?

Not at all. While there is a strong focus upon African American young men, Kappa Leagues throughout the country have members that reflect the global community of young men.

IS THE GOAL OF KAPPA LEAGUE TO HAVE ITS MEMBERS BECOME KAPPA’S?

Kappa League and Kappa Alpha Psi are two distinctly separate programs. The goal of Kappa League is to train and produce more achieving young men of color that will become leaders of impact and influence in today’s society.
