Lab Rules and Safety
You and your parents must sign the lab safety contract in order to participate in lab.
Always wear goggles (To protect yourself from chemicals and other people's accidents)
Bring them to each lab session
No wearing contact lens
Even if you finish. Other people around you are not finish and they may cause accidents
Let me know if there is broken glass.
Do Not dump chemicals into the sink unless told to.
Tied back hair when using fire
Wear (closed) shoes in lab. If you wear sandals or flip-flops, you will sit outside the lab room and will not be able to participate in lab.
Clean up after yourself.
The Lab station should look like what it was before you got there.
Always wash your hands
Notify teacher whenever accident happen
Do not start the experiment or mix chemicals until told to start
Mr. Kan will always start the lab by modeling it, reviewing procedure and safety so pay attention
Leave all your belongings in the classroom.
No eating or drinking in the lab. If you want to do that you have to go outside the lab room
Lab is 10% of your Final Grade: Based on Effort, Safety and lab book
At the end of the course, you need 15 labs in order to get a P for lab and take the Regent Exam. If you lack the labs, go to make up lab sessions
