The Iranian Revolution of 1979, together with revolutions in Nicaragua and Grenada, were the last revolutionary upsurge in the waves of post World War II anti-colonial, anti-imperialist and democratic revolutions. The Iranian revolution was the largest urban movement since the 1917 Russian revolutions. Writings posted below offer analysis of that historic event and its aftermath with a view to the future.
