My name is Patrick Kalmi and I have been teaching Chemistry at Eagan High School since 2007. I'm originally from Pengilly, MN which is a small town about 15 miles west of Hibbing, MN. I earned my undergraduate degree at Saint John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota. I have my Bachelor's degree in Natural Science with a concentration in Chemistry. In the summer of 2011, I earned my Masters of Education degree from the University of Saint Mary in Winona, Minnesota. If you are interested in reading about my Masters Thesis, I have linked a copy to it for you to enjoy. In addition I have included a link to my data that I collected to for the completion of my thesis. In total these documents are about 45 pages so read at your own leisure.
I currently reside in Rosemount where I live with my wife, 2 children, cat, and dog. My wife graduated medical school from the University of Minnesota in May of 2011 and currently works as a medical resident at St. Joseph's Hospital in St. Paul.
I have many hobbies. I love sports, camping, music, movies, and travel. When the weather is nice you will find me on the golf course. During the winter months I like to follow my local sports teams including the Wild, Gopher hockey & basketball, Vikings, and yes...even the Timberwolves.
Eagan High School has felt like home to me since I began back in 2007. I love to be active in students' lives outside of the classroom too. I have coached boys basketball and boys baseball. I also enjoy the other sports and activities that Eagan has to offer including football, soccer, hockey, Encore, speech, debate, and the performing arts. Eagan has been a great place to work and I'm honored to be a part of the Eagan community. I hope that I am able to stay in Eagan for years to come.
