Well, Hello!
My name is Kaila Payne. The most unique thing about me is that I am a mother of nine. When I married my husband, I immediately took on the role of homemaker, homeschooling our children. When I started my undergrad program, I was truly blessed by the experience. Studying early childhood education, I learned to value my education, as I was able to apply everything I was learning to my role as a mother and a primary educator to my children.
Through my education, I also discovered how much I genuinely enjoy learning, and I was really excited to continue my studies, which lead me to obtain a graduate degree in educational technology. I was so excited about all of the things I was learning, and I really wanted to be able to apply all the knowledge I was obtaining. This was when our family decided to go back to school.
Shortly after I finished my masters degree, I was offered a position as an adjunct professor for the undergrad program in which I graduated. I enjoy the opportunity to guide fellow professionals through the program and provide my insight while learning from their experiences.
Teaching isn't just something that I can do, but I truly feel that it is a gift of mine. My passion is ignited when I design engaging lessons for my students using technology, art, engineering, and conversation. That said, the role of a teacher is very demanding and takes away from the importance of being present for my own children.
I am currently seeking balance in my life, where I can use my gifts and talents while still having the flexibility to be there for my most important students; my children.
Blessings,
Kaila Payne
