Mission Statement
Our group is primarily interested in solving various elastic wave propagation related problems in classical as well as non classical theories of elasticity. Some of the main theories which we have worked are Eringen’s theories of Micropolar, Microstretch, Thermo-microstretch elasticity. The classical wave problems of reflection and transmission at interfaces of different elastic medias, Rayleigh wave, Stoneley wave and Love waves are also studied in non classical elasticity. The propagation characteristics of plane waves can be used to infer elastic properties under the earth crust. We are also interested in various techniques of Non destructive evaluations of materials using ultrasonic guided waves. The research group is also interested in solving dynamical and stability problems in Ferrofluids.
