Hi and welcome to my personal website.

The chances are that you have arrived here from my Lake District website. I have been a keen fell walker and visitor to the Lake District and Peak District National Parks for most of my life, so the chance to undertake this project has been quite facinating for me. Now that the main Lake District site has been live since October 2008, I wanted to do this new personal website to say a bit about myself and my other activities.

I first got into fell walking seriously when I was still at school. I used to go out into the Peak District with my dad to do walks on Kinder Scout (which I still climb today), and when I was about 13, I went on fell walking holiday with School to Grasmere in the Lake District. I can still remember the 5 walks we did that week on Fairfield, Helm Crag, Harrison Stickle, Pike o' Blisco, and Loughrigg. It was a great holiday that was really quite changing. After leaving school I continued to visit the fells for regular walks, either alone or with friends. I was also lucky enough to live close to Werneth Low in Gee Cross which meant to could nip out to do short low level walks during the week.

Today I am married to Janet with two great Children, Alex and Isabel. I live in the Swinton area of Greater Manchester, and still visit the Lake District and Peak District for walks and short breaks. I also publish two blogs about these areas which you might be interested in. These are Lake District Walks and Peak District Walks. I am also starting a small ecommerce business selling a Contact Manager CRM database which I developed using Ms Access. I also publish an Access 2007 Tutorial. You can read more about these project on the Access Database page of this website.

Thank you for visiting my websites and for taking an interest in my activities.
