Teaching Evaluations:

Below you can find a detailed quantitative breakdown of my teaching evaluations with unredacted anonymous student feedback and comments for just about every course I've ever taught. Not every term/year is covered throughout my teaching career due to administrative and storekeeping mishaps. Evaluation submission is not mandatory and students self-select, which means that enrollment numbers typically exceed participation numbers. Some evaluation forms aggregate across different courses that I taught in a given term. Overall, I score consistently around 4.5 (out of max 5.0) in class teaching and around 4.2 (out of max 5.0) in lecturing even when I teach 150+ hours per year. This is just above average compared to my peers. My best performance thus far is at LSE in 2022/23, where I scored 4.9 (out of max 5.0) in my class teaching and 4.4 (out of max 5.0) in lecturing. In hindsight, the key factors for this success are the fact that I was given the autonomy to design and deliver the course my way and only taught for 45 hours that whole year (i.e. 30 classes and 15 hours of lectures). Altogether, my teaching performance overview points to: (i) a cumulative experience effect in lecturing; (ii) no significant difference in performance between in-person and online teaching modes or across different courses and institutions; and (iii) above average performance independent of the teaching load.
