I've been volunteering for Junction City Grange #744 for almost 14 years. During that time, the building has been improved, renters have come and gone, we've held Country Bazaars, Little Opry's, Lane County Fair Booths, and our membership has drastically changed. But recently I found a scrapbook that has newspaper articles and speeches for anniversary celebrations with dates as far back as 1937! I've learned so much more about our rich history over the last few weeks through the documents and articles I've found, that I decided it was a good time to update this page. I hope you enjoy learning about this Grange as much as I have!
Sincerely,
Rechelle Salgado
Junction City Grange Treasurer & Rental Committee Administrator.

The Junction City Grange #744 is actually the third Junction City Grange! Here is an excerpt from an article about the 50th Anniversary celebration held in April of 1980:
This first picture is of the Junction City Grange from Kalmia Street taken on the week the build was complete in February 1937:
As you can see in the picture below showcasing the newly-built restrooms at Laurel Park in April of 1962, the Grange members had been busy at work on the hall as well as contributing bountifully to the community. Evidence that the basement entrance had been added at some point is in the background of the photo. Also, the new heater and chimney were installed in 1955 for $1,623.
(The oil heater was replaced at some point, which meant the chimney was no longer in use. By the time we replaced the roof in 2014 the chimney had to be removed.)
Hopefully, Junction City Grange #744 will return to the days of contributing more to the community as well as continuing to improve the building over the next 6 years. We should have many more pages to add to the scrapbook as we celebrate our 100 Year Anniversary!
