Biography

Multi-talented Australian singer-songwriter, Julia Starr, presents award-winning original songsw and a variety of music genres -proving in every performance the reason why she was awarded in the top twenty in Australasia in the Starmaker Quest. Her high-energy, authentic performance creates a truly memorable experience for all audiences at festivals, events and clubs. A popular performer, Julia has released three original albums which have achieved chart success on radio stations in Australia and Europe.

New releases have hit the streaming platforms in 2022 - including a re-release of Moments of Brilliance, I Should've Known (He was trouble) and Julia vows to release all available songs, one per month, in 2022.

Julia Starr plays acoustic and electric guitars - a rhythm player with lead breaks and curly twists - played on both original and popular blues standards which have inspired her musical journey. She also plays blues harp, Ganjo and ukelele and Dobro- and can hold her own as a solo performer on any stage. Her music performance style can be a mix of acoustic rock, west side Chicago blues, eclectic folk and modern beat-ballads. Her albums feature excellent, heart-felt songs with a cool back beat - stuff you can dance to - uplifting, original and inspiring. .Julia currently has a blues album being played on Australian radio and internet stations. A versatile performer indeed!

Julia Starr has played at the high-end of the performance market – supporting the best of the best, at capacity, festival crowds (Tamworth, Blue Water Festval Nelson Bay, Tocal Field Days, Berry Springs and Darwin Casino) through to regular gigs at the best clubs and venues, all over Australia including Top Class resorts All Seasons in Darwin. She has appeared on NBN news, community TV Sydney songwriters show and has a vast memoir of media releases available. Audiences enjoy Julia’s personable approach to entertainment and performance, which is highly professional, polished and award-winning!

Julia Starr is currently recording a new album project – number 4 – for release early 2022, which contains 12 new blues and jazz songs.

Julia ran The Little Blues Festival; a community show to foster new blues music and promote blues artists on the Central Coast, NSW Australia for over 6 years.

Julia Starr is available solo, duo, trio or four-piece band gigs: playing live and with some accompanying backing for large venues for dance shows.
