- You have a job with a salary of $30,000 a year after taxes ($1,250 every two weeks and $2,500 every month) You are starting this hypothetical scenario with an additional $2,500 dollars in savings. Your parents have kicked you out of their house and you now must start a new life for yourself. Today's mission:
- Find an apartment, figure out rent, and budget it into your monthly income
- Furnish your apartment. It already comes with washer/dryer, refrigerator, and a stove. You will have to buy everything else. I don't care if your apartment already comes furnished you will be buying all new items. - Budget in a security deposit - research how much it is for your residency
- Renter's insurance optional (proceed at your own risk if you get robbed your S.O.L.)
- You need to buy the following: - A bed
- kitchen supplies - 4 of everything (plates, cups, pots, and pans)
- Dresser, couch, and any other furniture items.
- Measuring cups, microwave, an appliance (toaster? sandwich maker?), silverware
