Juan A. Echenique

Hola! 

As an interdisciplinary health economist, my research focuses on how policies, social determinants, and health systems influence population health, particularly in the areas of mental health and substance use treatment. My motivation is to generate evidence that informs policy and improves health outcomes for diverse populations.

I am currently a Senior Research Scientist in the Health Evaluation and Analytics Lab (HEAL) in the NYU Grossman School of Medicine’s Department of Population Health . I have a Ph.D. in Policy Studies and an M.A. in Economics from the University of Maryland – College Park.
