Research Assistant, Wireless ICs and MEMS Laboratory, McGill University May 2009 -Present
Designed a novel method for packaging MEMS (micron sized electro-mechanical systems) using silicon carbide thin film encapsulation, which significantly reduces fabrication costs and can withstand harsh environments.
Developed a low-temperature process flow for fabricating the MEMS packaging at the McGill Microfab, which supports monolithic CMOS integration and bulk manufacturing.
Presented an overview of the group’s research at Montreal's Eureka Festival. Over 40,000 people attended the festival.
Project Manager, Design Principles and Methods, McGill University Jan 2009 – May 2009
Led a six-person team designing an autonomous robot, capable of collecting balls and delivering them to a predetermined drop-off zone.
Coordinated the interfacing and integration of different system modules by carrying out a critical path analysis and implementing a team communication framework, based on regular group meetings and a revision control documentation system.
Designer, Digital System Design, McGill University Sept 2008 – Dec 2008
Designed a base-100 financial calculator using an Altera DE1 FPGA board.
Developed and integrated numerous components in VHDL, including a controller, LCD display driver, push button interface and modules for performing interest calculations.
Translator Feb 2006 Hands Across the Americas Medical Mission, Hospital Isaias Duarte Cancino, Cali, Colombia
Translated between the English speaking North American volunteer doctors and the Spanish speaking patients during medical examinations.
Streamlined the medical examination process by suggesting modifications to the questions used, so as to take into account the cultural background of the patients.
