Intermezzo Sunday Concerts

The Arioso Flute Quartet


Presenting the Arioso Flute Quartet in a concert featuring chamber music for four flutes. Members of the group include Pegge Ealum, Deborah Heller, Carolyn Snyder-Menke, and Melissa Park Voshell, the Quartets founder.

Showcasing the talents of prominent First Coast musicians, Intermezzo Free Sunday Concerts are open to the general public and reservations are not required. A post-concert reception will be given for the performers, encouraging audience members to meet and mingle with the artists.

Intermezzo concerts are presented in the Main Library's Hicks Auditorium, located on the Conference Level of the Library near the Main Street entrances.

    • ABOUT THE MUSICIANS

      * Pegge Ealum is a Wedding and Event Music Coordinator, and is a graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor in flute performance and from Jacksonville University with a Master of Arts in Music Education. As an adjunct instructor in music at Jacksonville University, Pegge has helped many students develop into successful performers, and she herself has performed regularly with numerous musical groups, including the Gainesville Symphony Orchestra.
      * Deborah Heller plays flute and piccolo with the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, is the Assistant Librarian with the Symphony, and is also a member of the Symphony's Board of Directors. She is a member of the Florida Flute Association, and maintains a private flute studio.
      * Carolyn Snyder-Menke has an A.A.degree in Music from the College of Marin and a Bachelor of Music Education degree with a concentration in flute from Indiana University. Carolyn also performs as a soprano soloist in many venues, and plays and sings for Body and Soul, an organization of musicians that brings music to the community and to the bedside in healthcare institutions. She teaches flute and voice privately, and on occasion she plays with the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra.
      * Melissa Park Voshell, a Jacksonville native, has a Master of Music degree in Flute Performance from the Peabody Conservatory of Music and a Bachelors Degree in Flute Performance from Jacksonville University. In addition to being an active performer she maintains a private teaching studio and is the coordinator for Masterpiece Music, a professional chamber music service that provides music for weddings and other functions. She is currently an adjunct professor of Music and Humanities at FCCJ South Campus and adjunct flute professor at Jacksonville University, and she is the founder of the Arioso Flute Quartet.
