CURRENT STATUS: Unemployed/Searching for work
During the time i have been unemployed, i have taken advantage of upgrading my cameras and software. The goal is to accommodate my personal preference and not someone else who does not have the experience or a working knowledge of land surveying in the field. I adapted the lidar gimble to give me a wider range of view from east to west . The last change was a separate computer or laptop monitoring the antennas inserted at a ground depth of 6' feet and on the ground surface at a distance of 100' feet intervals. that gives me 1,200 feet of coverage or the ability to locate underground utilities at a depth of 10 feet. I could gain more depth if i increased the voltage but that would require more than two batteries and that is not what i want at this time. The distance between 300-1,200 feet provides me with enough coverage for what i need within the right of way. Hopefully i will be back to work and will be able to afford the items i need to complete the phase. UGCS GROUND STATION SOFTWARE IS AWSOME

sub contract Geospatial engineering tech position, was an attempt to bridge the engineering , structural and land surveying departments .
LCRA was not able to meet the demands of real world applications and existing 2d drawings. Another words, they couldn't wrap their minds around a vertical projection or a horizontal datum. This gave me food for thought. I'm now able to locate underground utilities without having to walk or drive over the items in question like telephone, electric, gas and water or sewer. While i was improving the sensor for GPR, echo sonar, and LIDAR I had to also create a workflow that would meet the demands of AutoCAD and not civil3d. Apparently in 2024 people do not enjoy drafting or calculating the locations of their environments. I will publish my software workflows and illustrate the workflows for field and post processing steps on November 1st 2024

LAND SURVEYING AIRBORNE SYSTEMS
L.O.R. & TOPO
In some cases it is helpful to operate the camera separately from the DJI Ground Station. For example in challenging aerial videography takes, approaching objects at close range in industrial inspections or simply if your customers wants to operate the camera to take shots of their homes by themselves. With the optional hard- and software package, a second person can control the camera’s tilt angle, the smooth yaw movement of the system (camera pan), triggering and zooming of the camera (if applicable) and also starting and stopping the video recording. The panning and tilting speed of the camera can be set to three different levels for intuitive control in all different situations. The input device with precise analogue joysticks can be connected directly to the Mobile Ground Station. There is nothing to adjust - simply plug in and give the camera control to anybody. Don’t worry, the pilot can always overrule the controls.
Data TX & RX for "TOPO" Fairbanks/North Pole area
Dedicated camera operators want to focus on controlling the camera’s point of view. With video goggles you can shut out distracting surroundings and focus on getting the perfect shot. The clear and bright image appears like looking at a 45’’ screen at a distance of 7 m. With an integrated 5.8 GHz video receiver and LiPo battery, the video goggles are completely independent of the Mobile Ground Station.
Please note: The "Above Peak" was not able to be completed in time for Meet with all Dept.'s I will be looking at other avenues of departure from Somerville ..All My Best to those involved in helping me bring this to fruition. I am taking a sabbatical from this project and will keep my mission brief schedules and post my goals and intentions. As some of you may know its been a very difficult road for me and my family. I have lost a lot in the past year but I hope I have gained a lot a lot more. I'm very grateful for all your support and efforts in helping me with this project (s) and hope I can meet all of your future needs with these technologies in the New England Area...this is 2HS2315 signing off...)
WAYPOINTS (Traverse Points)
By using the DJI Waypoint Navigation, larger areas can be surveyed automatically. A notebook, netbook or tablet can be connected to the Mobile Ground Station to direct the flight system in a map. Matrix patterns can be set up with defined parameters for the generation of up-to-date maps or 3D reconstructions. In the DJI Ground Station’s Status Display, you can save the current position, height and orientation of the flight system. This exact position can later be flown to semi-automatically.
Multiple SURVEY TARGETS can be stored in a path and that complete path can be executed in later flights. The TRAVERSE POINT t list only shows current SURVEY POINTS in a reachable distance BECAUSE OF BATTERY CONSUMPTION , which makes the display very tidy. An excellent function to have, especially when documenting progress on construction sites.
Panoramic Photos
You can create cylindrical and even spherical panoramic photos at the current position without any further input. A full spherical panorama with 72 images can be shot in just 3-4 minutes! The DJI S800 LAND SURVEYING UAS/UAV allows for very high definition photos without rotors in sight in all directions.
Point of Interest (POI)
The easiest way to photograph or Survey objects from all directions is with the Point & Click function. All that is required is to fly above the object and mark it in flight. The camera will now always orientate itself towards the object. You do not have to control camera tilt or pan. This feature can even be combined with the waypoint and path function to create stunning camera flights with the desired object always on screen. Slight manual corrections of the POI’s position are always possible, however an abrupt interference will easily put the system back into normal flight mode.
TRAVERSE POINTS (CNTRL PNTS)
This is an automated function for SCANNING around an object, for example to create 3D models. First, the object is easily marked in flight. The pilot then directs the flight system to the desired distance, height and camera view, defines the angular variation and activates camera. DJI UAS/UAV SYSTEMS ID’S THE TARGET marked object is automaticallyscanned and takes pictures from precisely defined positions.
JP Fonseca Land Management Services Fleet Patrols, now feature the latest tablet computers running highly detailed mapping software. Our clients supply us their network routes in GIS format, which we then load onto our computers. All data gathered is then fed into the computer in real-time by our linesmen. Once the survey is complete the gathered data is then loaded into the clients data base and used accordingly
JP FONSECA LAND MANAGEMENT SERVICES:One of our core activities within our power line fleet is a detailed visual engineering inspection by air. This is carried out using trained overhead power line engineers,
flying AT LOW LEVELS CAN OFFER HIGHER DETAILS
Visual Power Line Inspections One of our core activities within our power line division is a detailed visual engineering inspection by air. This is carried out using trained overhead power line engineers, flying at low level.
This type of survey gives a unique birds eye view of the entire asset and allows assessment of:
· Pole top rot
· Insulator damage
· Signing and guarding
· ESQCR issues
· Conductor damage
· Steelwork
· Vegetation
Inspections can cover ranges of between 120 - 170km per day, a much larger area than a foot survey could ever achieve
Jp fonseca land services have the experience, equipment and personnel to deliver the highest standards in helicopter surveys anywhere in North America . We offer an unparalleled range of aircraft and sensor technology, ideal for basic visual survey to high technology multi-sensor surveys.
Through our knowledgeable team of pilots, camera operators and observers and we can plan, manage and complete a successful and efficiently run aerial survey of any level.
We also offer the latest tablet computers running Land Surveying and 3d Scanning GIS software, this allows our electricity based surveys to take full advantage of high resolution mapping with detailed data base information.
