Research Interests

I am within the Department of Telematics of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya.

I am currently investigating a number of problems regarding security and privacy in computer networks, some of which are outlined below.

- Privacy: Investigating measures aimed at protecting user privacy in information systems, focusing on privacy metrics and the trade-off between privacy and usability. Currently, this is my main research area. For a detailed information about our research on privacy, please visit this webpage.

- Authentication and Authorization Infrastructures (AAIs): Research to extend PKI services over infrastructureless peer-to-peer networks, with special attention to certificate validation in ubiquitous computing scenarios. This was my main research area during several years.

- Trust and reputation: Investigating how reputation can be used to enforce collaboration in infrastructureless networks.

- Network security: Many years ago, I did reserach in this area. My Master and Ph.D. Thesis were focused on the topic network security.
