Dr. Jonathan Ernest

Assistant Professor - Economics

I joined the faculty in the Department of Economics in the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University at an NTT Assistant Professor of Economics in Fall 2019.

I teach introductory courses in microeconomics and macroeconomics, as well as electives in the economics of sports and the economics of business strategies (industrial organization) , with a focus on relating the topics covered to students with a range of perspectives and interests.

I serve as the faculty advisor for the Weatherhead Economic Society (WES) and the Quizbowl team, and enjoy working with students and volunteering as a mentor for the CWRU's Emerging Leader Program to meet and guide students from across the university and a variety of academic disciplines. In 2022, I was named "Coach of the Year" for the emerging leaders program. In 2023, I was named "MVP" by the CWRU Media Relations team.

In my free time, I write short articles for a general audience analyzing everyday news articles with an economic perspective at stealtheconomics.com.
