MSc. student Hilary Street presents at the annual TCBES symposium: Investigating the genetic basis of fluke pigmentation in humpback whales!

Post date: Apr 8, 2016 8:31:50 PM

Hilary plans to compare single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) profiles in humpback whales (Megaptera novaeangliae) to look for a genetic basics to tail coloration. Individual humpback whales can be identified by their tail fluke patterns, somewhat like identifying people by their fingerprints.

Way to go Hilary!
