I provide high quality childminding in Sketty, Swansea. I have over 25 years' experience as a registered childminder.

I was inspected in September 2024 and rated EXCELLENT in all areas by Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW).

Parents are very happy with the high quality of care I provide.  Some comments from my latest inspection report:

"The child minder is highly motivated and committed and clearly enjoys her role. Her vision and sense of purpose sustains improvement and promotes excellent outcomes for children."

Children have lots of space to play in: a large open-plan living area downstairs and a large all-weather patio in a safe, enclosed rear garden. They have access to a very wide selection of indoor and outdoor toys, games and learning activities. I also offer a rich variety of off-site experiences, including regular trips to local parks, beaches, libraries, playgroups and special events.

I hold a Level 3 Diploma in Children's Care, Learning and Development.  I receive regular training in paediatric first aid, safeguarding and food hygiene. I also have a Level 3 Certificate in Welsh, allowing me to speak and teach basic Welsh to children in my care. I use a range of Welsh language resources. My service is part of the Healthy and Sustainable Pre-School Scheme.

I have an excellent understanding of how children develop and I cater well to their individual needs, including additional learning needs (ALN). I have completed specialist training in supporting ALN in the early years. I am trained in using WELLCOMM to support the development of speech and language development, and I also support young children with social and communication difficulties, as well as those experiencing anger and anxiety. I have completed training in creating inclusive environments using visual supports and other universal strategies. My practice is informed by, and supports, the UN Convention on Rights of a Child (UNCRC).

I am grateful for grants from PACEY, the City and County of Swansea and Welsh Government, which have supported resources, activities and equipment.  I have been supported by  the Childcare and Early Years Small Capital Grants Schemes, most recently in 2025-2026.

I provide the Welsh Government's Funded Childcare Offer for Wales and I am also registered to provide Flying Start Childcare in Swansea: check your eligibility here.
