I am a behavioral scientist interested in experimental and quantitative methods, insights from cognitive science, and applied business analytics. I serve as an Assistant Professor of Business Analytics and AI at the University of Northern Iowa and a visiting scholar at the University of Chicago. I am formerly the Cecil P. McDonough Endowed Professor (with tenure) at Western Illinois University and a faculty member at DePaul University. I lead the Behavioral Economics and Organization Research Group (BEORG).
In my research, I seek to understand the relationship between communication/text and managerial decision-making, pro-social choice, the role of norms, stereotypes, and discrimination, and the role of beauty. Lately, I've studied how decision-makers interact with genAI and how we can use AI to predict behavior.
I currently teach courses in Business Analytics and Machine Learning and have taught Game Theory, Managerial Economics, Behavioral Economics, and Econometrics at the graduate and undergraduate levels. I have a proven track record of guiding student research.
