About JNTU CEK
JNTUCEK (Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University College of Engineering Kakinada) was originally ‘The College of Engineering, Vizagpatnam’ at the time of its establishment in 1946. It is now a sprawling campus of 110 acres, green with mango trees in the fast developing Port city of Kakinada, East coast of peninsula India. Kakinada has a rich political literacy and cultural heritage passed on through generations. Earlier, it was affiliated to Andhra University. This college became a constituent of the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad, w.e.f 02-10-1972 through an act of legislature along with other sister institutions under the control of the then Director of Technical Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh. In the year 2003, the college has become autonomous. As per the Govt of AP, ACT No. 30 of 2008, dt. 24 Sept. 2008, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada was established and the college has become the constituent college of JNTU Kakinada.
The College is governed by the rules and guidelines provided by the university from time to time. The Principal is the administrative and the academic Head of the College. He is assisted by the Vice-Principals and the College Academic Committee in academic matters and the Deputy Registrar and the office staff in administrative matters. The day-to-day activities of the college are carried out by budgetary allocation from the University fund.
The entire academic activity in the college is overseen by the Governing Body, which is formed as per UGC norms containing reputed academicians, industrialists and alumni on its body along with senior Professors of the college.
Currently, the college is having Six branches offering Seven UG programs, 13 PG Programs and Ph.D.

1. To impart Personnel Skills and Ethical Values for Sustainable Development of the Nation.
2. To create Research & Industry oriented centers of excellence in all engineering disciplines.
3. To be a renowned IPR generator and repository for innovative technologies.
4. To develop Research and Industry oriented technical talent.
5. To benchmark globally the academic & research output.
Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)
As a part of enhancing Governance of the college and based on the UGC XII plan guidelines, the college established the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) with the following:
Goals:
To develop quality benchmarks/parameters aiming to improve various academic and administrative activities of the institution;
To promote measures for institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through internalization of quality culture and institutionalization of best practices.
Functions:
Development and application of quality benchmarks/parameters for the various academic and administrative activities;
Facilitating the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive for quality education and faculty maturation to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process;
Arrangement for feedback responses from students, parents and other stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes;
Dissemination of information on the various quality parameters of higher education;
Organization of inter and intra institutional workshops, seminars on quality related themes and promotion of quality circles;
Documentation of the various programmes/activities of the Institution, leading to quality improvement;
As it is University constituent college, acting as a nodal agency for coordinating quality-related activities, including adoption and dissemination of good practices;
Composition of the IQAC:
The IQAC have the following composition:
a) The Principal – Chairperson -> Dr. MHM Krishna Prasad, Prof of CSE
b) Five senior teachers and one senior administrative official - Members
c) Two external experts on Quality Management / Industry / Local Community – Members
d) Coordinator – Member Secretary -> Dr Meerasaheb, Prof of ME & Vice-Principal (Admin)
