I am currently a Senior Environmental Economist at the Environment & Natural Resources Global Practice at The World Bank. My primary fields are environmental economics and development economics. I conduct research and I am involved in the preparation, implementation, and evaluation of lending operations. In terms of research, I lead analytical work on impact evaluation, conduct policy research, and provide analytical economic support on sustainable development issues. I am also a Research Associate at Instituto de Estudios Peruanos (IEP), a research think tank based in Lima - Peru, and an Associate Member at the Seminario Permanente de Investigación Agraria (SEPIA).
I obtained my PhD and MA in Economics from Georgia State University in 2012 and was awarded with a Fulbright scholarship. I also hold a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Universidad del Pacifico in Lima, Peru. Before joining the World Bank, I worked at the Inter-American Development Bank and the Instituto de Estudios Peruanos (IEP).
My research focuses on the (direct and indirect) effects of environmental programs in developing countries and their relation to human behavior, decision-making, and poverty. Through my research, I have developed expertise in experimental (field and laboratory) and non-experimental (microeconometric) empirical methods.
