Technical Skills / Training:
Performs and teaches up to Grade 8 levels on the Registry of Guitar
Tutor courses and Trinity College courses (Covering each syllabus on the
Rockschool courses: 1999 – 2006, 2006 – 2012, 2012 – 2018, 2018 - 2024).
Teaches up to Grade 8 Rudiments and Theory on the A.B.R.S.M.
courses. Can also perform and teach up to Grade 8 practical in Classical
guitar on the A.B.R.S.M. courses.
Specialises in teaching Popular Music Theory and Aural / Rhythmic
Perception at all levels.
Audio Engineer (Live and Studio) since 1992:
Excellent working knowledge in the set-up of live audio equipment: mixers /
soundboards, dynamic processors, effects processors, amplifiers,
microphones, loudspeakers, live-sound reinforcement methodology and
related technology.
Extensive knowledge of recording studio operations: multi-track board
operation, Pro-Tools experience, digital and analogue recording, editing and
mixing, dynamics and effects processing, M.I.D.I. / sequencing for music
programming and automation, music production, C.D. production, audio
encoding / decoding, video production, synchronisation.
