Student Projects
Here is a list of possible topics/projects in line with research interests in our lab. All the projects require programming/coding skills to explore various types of machine learning (ML - matrix factorization, manifold learning, etc) and deep learning (DL - CNN, RNN, Transformer, Deep Reinforcement Learning)) models.
Brain science. Possible projects include:
Analyzing neural data recorded in animals and humans under different cognitive tasks.
Using deep learning models to model the brain function.
Brain Machine/Computer Interface (BMI/BCI). Possible projects include:
Decoding neural signals to control simulated robotics.
Simulating robotics for vision, decision-making, and action/control.
Comutational medicine. Possible projects include:
Using DL models for molecules, such as proteins.
Using DL models for omics data, such as snRNA-seq.
VR. Possible projects include:
Visualizing data in VR headsets.
Programming VR experiments to explore human cognitive behaviors.
FPGA. Possible projects include:
Implementing DL models on FPGA.
Simulating brain models on FPGA.
