The TA is available during his office hours to answer questions and to provide general assistance with the class. However, because performance on homework is a major part of each student’s grade, they will not provide information that is specific to solving any of the assigned homework problems in advance of the due date for the assignment. In particular, to be fair to all students, they will not be able to confirm or deny whether your tentative approach to a problem is correct or not; to do so would be tantamount to "pre-grading" your homework.
