Christmas Concert

From Sheila Harmon: sheilaharmon@twc.com CHRISTMAS CONCERT is at JHS on December 14 at 7 pm.  All freshmen, sophomores and juniors are asked to bring a dozen cookies for the reception that will be in the cafeteria after the concert.  please drop them off in the cafeteria before the concert. ·         The 130.00 marching fee is past due!!. There is a list of who has paid up on the wall by the band room for students to check, as well as how much they have in their account at this time. ANYONE WANTING TO USE ACCOUNT MONEY TO PAY FOR STUFF MUST LET HIM KNOW-we do not "automatically transfer" account money for fees owed.

3.      From Julie Monetta jmonetta1@gmail.com   The Fall 2017 FRUIT SALE is on until November 27th. Orders MUST be turned in on Monday, 11/27 in the band office. When the family gathers this week for Thanksgiving, remember to bring out the order form and share the offer of fresh fruit in time for the holidays. But please make sure the forms and money are turned in next Monday- the committee chairs must call in the order the next day, so there is no wiggle room for late orders! Fruit will be delivered to a NEW LOCATION at Nancy Baer Trucking on December 15th. We will need help unloading and organizing fruit.  Parent pick up will be on Saturday, December 16th at Nancy Baer Trucking.  If you can help on December 15th and/or 16th, please email Julie Monetta at jmonetta1@gmail.com  or Heather Goodhue at hgoodhue@gjcs.k12.in.us

4.      From Emily Small  esmall@masterbrand.com AMISH FOOD FUNDRAISER Optional Fundraiser for Band Trip 2018:  We will be selling items from Amish Recipes until November 27. The order forms are available in the band area at JHS.  The order forms and money are due back to JHS Band office and MUST be turned in by 11/27.  All items are $9 with the student earning 40% profit into their account. Checks should be made to Jasper Band. delivery on December 4.  Contact Emily Small esmall@masterbrand.com  for questions. money should be turned in when you turn in your order form.  (Reminder: you must inform Mr. Goodhue that you want money in your kid’s account to be used for a payment for something or sent to the trip company; this will not be automatically.)

5.       From Regina Soellner  soellner@twc.com  CHRISTMAS CRAFT SHOW is set for Saturday, December 2nd from 10 am to 5pm at JHS.  Please read through these options and let Regina know if there is anything you could help with. Thank you.

·         We will be having a craft section for children that come to the show and will need volunteers to help them make their craft to take with them. 

·         We will be selling balloons and need people to man that booth. 

·         We will also be having a raffle for items that have been donated and will need people to sell tickets. 

·         We may also need help with concessions. 

·         We had a sign-up sheet at the burger bash and I want to thank everyone that signed up, I will be emailing everyone to remind them of their shift.  I appreciate all of you! 

·         Thank you so much for craft item donations so far!  I will be going through it this week to see what we still might need.   

 

**NEW**We are in need of donations for concessions for the craft show. Same as last year: cookies, brownies, rice crispy treats individually bagged for individual sale.  Please drop them off at JHS Friday, December 1 between 6-9pm or Sat morning from 7-9 am. 

 

**NEW** We are looking for volunteers to help pass out flyers and for people to put out yard signs.  I will be in the parking lot where the band practices this evening 11/21 from 5-6 and then again on Monday 11/27 to pass out signs and flyers. 

 

**NEW** We are also looking for band parents that own businesses that would be willing to donate an item or small gift basket to be part of our raffle, $100 or less.  Please call Regina  812-634-0005 or 812-631-9066

7.      From Carol King:  king.carol@gmail.com BAND CARDS went out so ask your student for them. Any kids that did not pick up their cards can still pick them up from Mr. Goodhue at JHS or Mr. Coller at JMS.  parents that need extra cards can contact Carol or the kids can get them from Mr. Goodhue or Mr. Coller. The money and unsold cards are due back to the band offices by January 8.  Sell to friends, family, co-workers. good for gifts! Any questions, contact Carol

The percussion group picture is done. They will be available for pick up tomorrow after practice.  You must know what size you  ordered originally. You will receive the same. McCarty knew the original order but not who they went to. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO KNOW WHAT SIZE YOU SHOULD RECEIVE.

Craft Show 2017

Christmas Craft Show.  December 2.  JHS.  10 am – 4 pm.

*Donations needed to help defray expenses!  These can be put in the box that will be in the band hallway.

-Shoe box lids

-Craft items such as glitter, glue, craft pompoms, beads, wiggly eyeballs, etc & drinking straws

-Photo booth ideas/decorations

*Volunteers (parents and older band students) needed to help in the craft area to help little kids

Fruit Sale Fall 2017

The Fall 2017 Fruit Sale will begin the Wednesday after State, on November 8th.

It will run until the Monday after Thanksgiving, November 27th. This is a little longer than usual, but we thought extending it through Thanksgiving might bring some extra family sales.

Orders MUST be turned in on Monday, November 27th so we can receive the fruit before the holiday break.

Fruit will be delivered to a NEW LOCATION at Nancy Baer Trucking on December 15th. We will need help unloading and organizing fruit.

Disney Band Trip

Optional Fundraiser for Band Trip 2018!

There will be an optional fundraiser to help with the expenses of the trip to Disney World* over Thanksgiving in 2018.  We will be selling items from Amish Recipes November 1-20 with delivery on December 4.  We will have brochures with 56 items on it consisting of Amish made products such as jams, salsas, BBQ sauces, butters, relishes, a variety of candies, along with a line of our “no sugar added” items.  Most of the items are all natural with few or no preservatives.  Each item cost is $9.00 with a 40% return to you on each items old.  Contact Emily Small esmall@masterbrand.com  for questions.

*The trip to Disney World is optional for band members, the fundraiser is optional and available for those who want to take part in it.

2018 Jasper Band 4 Yr Trip Info

From Emily Small: A representative from Music Travel presented information regarding our upcoming trip to Florida during Thanksgiving 2018. Info is attached! We are looking for at least 105 people for 2 buses.  Non-refundable deposit of $35.   ***Please try to sign up before the end of this semester so we can start getting an idea of our numbers going and what payments will be.***  All payments and details will go through Music Travel, not the BPO or directors in the band office.  Payment plans would start November 2017 and go until October 2018.   Last day to cancel trip is 9/21/18 for full refund except for non-refundable deposit.  Parents can direct Mr. Goodhue to submit money out of the student individual band account to the music company for payment to trip account.  there will be additional trip specific fundraising for students to earn money.   Registration cards are available from Emily Small or Stephanie Armstrong.
