Welcome to the Home page of Dr. K. Jeyadheepan
Dr. K. Jeyadheepan is one of the Innovative, strategic, resourceful, results oriented material scientist with 16 years of experience in research and in the development of cost-effective synthesis methods to develop nano-materials for their applications in energy sector. Science & Technology enthusiast who works on materials to application approach, and solution to global concerns in an impactful manner. Dr. K. Jeyadheepan, obtained his Ph.D in Physics from Alagappa University, Karaikudi in 2010, is currently employed as Assistant professor (Research) in School of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, SASTRA University, Tirumalaisamudram, Thanjavur, Tamilnadu, India. He was working as a Project Scientist in the Department of Physics at Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India from May 2010 to July 2011 and Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics, Kalasalingam University, Virudhunagar.
His doctoral research was on the preparation and characterization of multi-cation metal oxide thin films for solar cell applications. He has gained the knowledge of glancing angle deposition (GLAD) technique and developed a GLAD evaporation instrument indigenously, during his post doctoral research position at Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. Aslo, He has experimental knowledge of plasmonic nano-structures for various applications like metamaterials and solar cells, there. He is now working on the development of nano-sculptured photo-anodes with ultrahigh aspect ratio for energy harvesting applications for which he has received start-up research grant for young scientist (Young Scientist Award) by Science & Engineering Research Board (DST-SERB). He is also working on exploring new materials for the application of thin film solar cells, such as new materials for absorber layers and transparent conducting oxide applications. As his research credit, he has published more number of papers in peer-reviewed international journals.
He is also having sound knowledge on the indigenous development and automation of scientific instruments using microcontrollers and LabVIEW, for thin film preparation and characterizations. He has developed & automated a photo-acoustic spectrometer for the thermal and optical characterization of reactor materials and solar cell materials. He has indigenously developed a GLAD deposition system for the preparation of sculptured 3D nano-structures for solar cells & sensors applications. Also he has indigenously developed a complete automated spray pyrolysis system for the preparation of nano-thin films of oxides, and sulfides for various applications. He has also developed & automated a temperature dependent resistivity (from LN2 temperature to 200 oC) setup, Dynamic controlled Gas/vapor sensing setup, Hall effect setup for electrically characterize the thin films and an anodization setup for the template assisted synthesis of nano-structures.
He is having research collaboration with the professors and scientists from various institutions across the country and abroad.
